Smart Consulting Lab is a small practice built for small businesses: bookkeeping and tax done properly, and an advisor who actually picks up the phone.
My name is Jasna Škiljan and I run Smart Consulting Lab from Gorey, Co. Wexford. For more than 20 years I have worked in accounting, business advisory and compliance for sole traders and small companies, first in Croatia and now in Ireland. Along the way I kept meeting the same thing: capable people running good businesses without a clear picture of their own numbers.
That is why the practice does two things at once. The bookkeeping side keeps your records accurate and your returns filed on time. The coaching and consulting side gives you a place to ask questions, make decisions and plan the next step.
Every engagement starts with a written scope and a fixed fee, so there is never a surprise on the invoice. Work starts once payment is in, and nothing is filed without your approval of the draft. Documents go through a secure portal, and you always know who is handling your file.
Coaching is a conversation where you make the decisions, with structure and accountability. Consulting is where I do the analysis and hand you a concrete result. Many clients use both, and the Start Smart bundle exists because founders kept asking for exactly that.
Beyond bookkeeping and tax returns, I run training for small businesses on EU consumer-protection rules for online sellers, and I have helped Etsy and Stripe sellers automate their invoicing. Day to day we work in Smarty, the bookkeeping platform we built for small businesses, and can take over from any existing bookkeeper without disruption.
